Robert Sands moved with his family when he was 2 yrs. old to Knoxville, Tennessee. In fifth grade he recieved a 1st place city wide art award sponsored by the Bank Of Knoxville that covered more than 10 school districts. Robert moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and he studied graphic design and painting at NMSU, New Mexicio State University. Robert Sands began his career as a 3d forensic artist, recreating accidents while employed for an expert witness and engineering firm in Las Cruces New Mexico. In 1999 he moved to Southwest Michigan where he has worked as a graphic designer, a technical illustrator and web designer. While employed with marketing firms he produced work for Whirlpool, GE, Rheem and Ausco Brakes. Robert is the owner and publisher of 3dsands.com and was contracted by IPIX to produce an architectural visualization for Frank Gehry’s 2000 vision of the proposed Guggenheim Museum to be constructed on the shore of the East River in New York City, New York. He recently invented the production/performance artist “Robrecht” who carves totems from wood and paints them in time lapse video. He became a member of the Chickasaw Nation in 2010.
